We are a sustainability movement. We choose to face the sober reality that current international efforts to avert climate catastrophe, might not be enough. The artefacts of our civilisation are fragile. Without intervention, no signs of our stay might remain but a carbon spike showing on the geological record of a planet that’s recovered from our abuse – and our 7 billion skeletons recycled for use perhaps as a fossil fuel source for future intelligent life.
Our Ark of the Human Experience has a conservation purpose. We agitate to promote the development of technologies that might help us curate and preserve the best aspects of the human story. We can continue to live not as a living species – but in the eyes of our intelligent successors.

The Ark of the Human Experience can have an even more important function. Because another possibility is that pockets of humanity continue to survive. What if what we curate now, can serve as a constant warning against the dangers of developing entropic and suicidal economies once again? The Ark of the Human Experience can become more than just a species vanity project but an endeavour with an altruistic purpose.
